DESCRIPTION:ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE GREENFIELD FIRE DISTRICT \nOn December 12\, 2023 \n  \nNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Greenfield Fire District will take place on December 12\, 2023 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Greenfield Fire District Office (building behind the firehouse)\, 13 South Greenfield Road\, Greenfield Center NY\, for the purpose of electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term\, commencing January 1\, 2024 and concluding December 31\, 2028.  All voters registered with the Saratoga County Board of Elections on or before November 20\, 2023 shall be eligible to vote. \nCandidates for District Office shall have filed their names with the District Administrator/Secretary of the Greenfield Fire District at the District Office located at 13 South Greenfield Road\, Greenfield Center\, NY\, and in accordance with the District Election Policy (https://greenfieldfd.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Elections-Policy.pdf) no later than 20 days before the election\, 3 PM EST November 22\, 2023. \n  \nDated: November 20\, 2023 \n  \nJoyce Petkus\, District Administrator/Secretary \nBoard of Fire Commissioners \nGreenfield Fire District \n13 South Greenfield Road \nGreenfield Center\, NY 12833 \n  \nCandidates running for Fire District Commissioner for the term beginning January 1\, 2024 and ending on December 31\, 2028 at the Annual Election being held on December 12\, 2023:\nBryan Chouinard: Mr. Chouinard has been a member of the GFD for over 43 years.  He has served as a past Commissioner on the Board of Fire Commissioners and has worked his way up the ranks from firefighter to Deputy Chief over the years.  Mr. Chouinard brings many years of experience and knowledge within the Fire Service to the GFD as well as knowing the NYS Fire Laws and regulations.  Mr. Chouinard has also been a Town of Wilton resident for over 50 years.  With Mr. Chouinard’s past experience on the Board of Fire Commissioners dealing with the budget\, firefighters and taxpayers\, his career within the district as an officer on both the administrative side and the line officer as well as a resident he feels his experience and knowledge would be useful as a member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. \nWilliam Etson:  Mr. Etson’s business ownership of a larger corporation he started has given him vast experience in the business of purchasing\, negotiating contractual terms and the ability to navigate successful multi-party mediation solutions\, and his additional skills would be useful as a member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. \nLarry Ramsey: Mr. Ramsey’s previous years and experience as a fire fighter\, as well as a past employee of the district has given him great knowledge in both the administrative and fire matic sides of the district’s operations\, and feels that along with his experience and knowledge his skills would be a useful asset to the board of fire commissioners.
