Result of Public Vote for Proposition 1 – LOSAP Increase

The residents of Greenfield Center and Wilton voted overwhelmingly to increase the Length Of Service Award Program to $30 a year credit that an active fire fighter can earn, at a maximum of 30 years ($900.00). This is a raise from $20 a year for 30 years ($600.00)

A fire fighter earns points by participating in a variety of activities with the fire department. To be considered active you must accumulate 50 points a year. After 5 years of active duty, you become vested in the LOSAP program. You will earn $30 dollars a year for up to 30 years that you remain in active status (50 points). At age 65 you become eligible to collect at a maximum of $900.00 a month
